Microsoft Applied Skills have improved - if you tried them a few months ago, it’s worth another look. When Microsoft Applied Skills first launched, they were new and… let’s say a bit rough around the edges. I went through several of them early (Power Platform) and passed, but the experience itself wasn’t great: 👉 One accidental click of the mouse back button meant losing all progress and having to retake the assessment after 72 hours -> This was my worst nightmare 👉 Virtual machines were often laggy, with provisioning taking several minutes 👉 After submission, scoring sometimes took minutes as well, leaving you unsure whether everything worked as expected Fast forward, and things have clearly changed for the better. I went today in a bit of a frenzy and passed 5 Applied Skills across #CopilotStudio, #MicrosoftCopilot, and #GitHubCopilot, and the experience was significantly better. The biggest improvement for me is the ability to open the virtual machine in a separate window. This gives you a full, uninterrupted environment and removes the risk of losing progress due to an accidental mouse click. The only issue I had was that the tab closed by itself 2 times, but it was possible to reopen it by the master assessment tab. If you were hesitant before or had a bad first experience, now is a good time to try again. Want to test yourself in one of 40 Microsoft challenges?
