Power Automate designer V3
Star feature of Power Automate V3 Designer Rolling Out Ahead of Schedule!
Initially, the star feature of the V3 editor - the new Connector Pane - was set for General Availability in April 2025. Out of a sudden, on March 13th, it was released. And as we speak, it is rolling out to your region.
What's new in V3 editor?
π Add to Favorites - you can now star any action or connector, pinning it to the top for quick and easy access
π Improved search experience - Search functionality is significantly enhanced and more performant! Browse data sorted alphabetically in a list or grouped by connectors for better organization
π Clearer emphasis on what's premium - Connectors and actions now feature a gem symbol to clearly distinguish premium offerings, making it easier to understand what's premium in Power Automate. The interface is now much more consistent and it is harder to miss this information
π AI capabilities section - A dedicated section showcases AI Builder, Copilot features, and Generative Actions, making AI tools more accessible than ever
π Expand/Collapse all - Say goodbye to manual clicks! This comfort feature lets developers expand or collapse all actions such as loops and conditionals with a single click
π Additional performance improvements - Microsoft is constantly working on increasing the snappiness of the interface. From what I can feel, it's even better than before making it a great time for you to consider switching from the old editor!
What else is coming?
I'm also happy to remind you that [](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ACoAAAAocjYB4GONKVTGn-2kdrjCu0Ch2r8MbCw)[Leon Welicki](https://www.linkedin.com/in/lwelicki/) during the 2024 Release Wave 2 event last October showed us additional updates on what's to be expected. Hereβs whatβs still in the [Microsoft](https://www.linkedin.com/company/microsoft/) pipeline:
π Recently used - Easily access your most-used actions at the top of the actions list
π Native Power Fx support - Write Power Fx formulas directly within Power Automate, adding a second operational language beyond traditional expressions
π UI refresh - Expect a more modern and streamlined design with improved stylistics for the overall UI with a bigger emphasis on fluency of reviewing runs and version history.
Those changes are not at all shared via the release planner but they may be sooner or later introduced publicly. See yourself in the second picture of what was shared during the event.
