Solution-aware dashboards removed from Power Platform
If you have ever published Power BI reports through Power Platform / Power Apps solutions, it's time to migrate.

Sometimes you may feel like the tools you are using are there and will always be there. Some preview features stay in preview for years without saying... after some time, you stop wondering if it's production-ready or not. However, it's Microsoft's right to start treating some preview features in the platform like they never existed. This is what happens to solution-aware Power BI dashboards and semantic models - integration that was released in preview in the 2022 release wave 1.
When this feature was announced, my gut feeling said, "That's the first step of truly integrating Power Platform with Power BI for other than marketing purposes". But... priorities shift, and Fabric came, taking the spotlight from Power BI itself. It's still possible to find references that Power BI is a part of Power Platform, but everything is obscured by the shadow of Fabric. The change was silent, unannounced, and happened around April this year, as that's the date of the last update for the Environment extension in AppSource. I was really surprised, as I planned one production release around this feature for one of our clients. It was just missing, and I was sure that it was there, so I started digging. That's not that surprising, to be honest, it's already happened for some other features, such as native Canvas apps Git integration. Please be aware that something may soon stop working for you if this feature is implemented in production.
The biggest drawback I'm seeing from it is the removal of the possibility to publish connected solutions for Power Apps AND Power BI in Microsoft Marketplace (Azure Marketplace / AppSource). That's something that I've also planned and even tested, but I'm no longer able to pursue. In reality, publishing something to Marketplace is hard in some cases - in my case, for example, submissions were rejected, as I can't use Power BI in Marketplace offering for Power Apps as it violates Power BI trademark, but that's a story for a rant I may soon write...
What stayed? Power BI Embedded environment variable, which you can link to any workspace you want to. It will work without any issues in your apps, as it worked a few years ago. It's even still listing "Show reports in this environment only" as a sad artefact of the past.
