If you build on Power Platform or manage it, four changes deserve a place in your calendar. Some affect access to your work. Others affect how you pay for it. Next month will be especially busy for Power Platform Administrators due to a few recently announced changes requiring changes in management strategies with financial impact for Microsoft platform consumers.

šŸ‘‰ Dataverse for Teams

New environment provisioning stops on 15 November 2026. Environments that haven't been upgraded to full Dataverse are suspended on 15 September 2027 and decommissioned on 30 October 2027. Plan the Dataverse upgrade, capacity, and licensing before suspension. If you have implemented some Dv4T apps that did not require a Power Apps Premium license, now is the time to migrate.

šŸ‘‰ Unmanaged developer environments and the Developer Plan

New environment provisioning stops on 15 November 2026. Suspension starts on 15 December, with deletion starting 15 January 2027. Convert or move your work before access disappears. The creation limit also drops from 3 to 1 managed developer environment per user. Existing managed environments are preserved, including multiple environments. Free Developer Plan doesn't include Managed Environments usage rights, which means development activities require premium licenses for all end users.

MC1505609 schedules the end of new app creation for mid-October and retirement for 30 November 2026. Migrate apps you want to keep. Microsoft points makers towards Microsoft Managed Runtime (via Copilot Cowork, Copilot Studio, or CMR CLI) or Code Apps.

šŸ‘‰ Seeded AI Builder credits

From 1 November 2026, new and renewed eligible Premium licenses will no longer receive them. Existing entitlements continue through the contract term. Plan Copilot Credits capacity: there's no automatic conversion, and AI Builder runs can be blocked when neither credit type is available.

For me, the developer environment change deserves particular attention. A learning environment can still hold work you'd hate to lose. Many capabilities previously bundled into other licenses now require Power Apps Premium, Power Automate Premium licenses, or Copilot Credits to use.
